Michael Nadol
Strategic Advisor
Michael Nadol provides strategic guidance to MFR as a member of the Corporate Board of Advisors and advises clients on select projects. Mike has over three decades of experience with public sector financial sustainability and workforce strategies.
A former Director of Finance and Deputy Mayor for the City of Philadelphia, Mike also built and led the PFM Group’s national management and budget consulting practice for more than 20 years. Over his career, he has advised a majority of the 25 largest U.S. cities as well as states, counties, and public authorities nationwide. He has testified as an expert witness on public finance and/or labor economics in ten states and before two Presidential Emergency Boards.
Mike earned his Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. in Political Science at Yale University. He has taught at the master’s-level at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government and currently serves on the Brookings Institution’s Municipal Finance Conference Advisory Committee and the State of Maryland’s finance working group for the Baltimore Vacants Reinvestment Initiative.
