Major Areas of Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Director will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic:

    • Assist MFR Leadership to drive a culture that is diverse, inclusive, and promotes high quality delivery of our services.
    • In coordination with the Human Capital Strategy team, develop and implement MFR’s Human Capital strategy by establishing operational objectives, HR processes, and metrics around talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention.
    • Collaborate with Growth and Expansion and Human Capital Strategic Teams on Recruitment Efforts / HR Strategy to forecast human capital needs to support corporate growth.
    • Assist MFR Leadership and Senior Managers to mitigate human capital related business risks on client engagements and internal operations.

Operational:

    • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity; recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Guide employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating HR policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicate and enforce these policies and procedures. Update current documentation like employee handbook, offer letters, confidentiality agreements, standard job descriptions, etc.
    • Develop, document and communicate workforce administration processes, including working time, leaves & absences, employees’ data recording & reporting, hiring and termination process.
    • Assist in the recruitment, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental leadership to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Implement and conduct new hire orientation plan and program.
    • Manage and directly handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
    • Partner with MFR’s Legal HR Attorney to develop and respond to any ULP/EEO/FLSA, etc. charges and complaints, disciplinary actions, terminations and affirmative action complaints. Be point of contact (POC) for disciplinary actions and terminations.
    • Support MFR Leadership by providing HR advice, counsel, and decisions; Communicate federal, state, and local legal requirements regarding existing and new HR legislation, enforce adherence to requirements, and advise Leadership on needed actions.
    • Provide guidance and coaching to MFR Leadership and Senior Managers in the delivery of constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Assist the CEO and CFO in developing options for compensation initiatives like annual salary planning, bonuses, incentive compensation, etc.
    • Assist MFR Leadership and Senior Managers drive success by developing and implementing HR metrics to monitor employee performance. Promote key performance initiatives including, goal setting, mid-year and annual-review process, promotions, demotions, performance improvement plans and organizational changes.
    • Assist MFR Leadership and Senior Managers in the recruitment and identification of new candidates and support succession planning for ongoing engagements.
    • Develop and implement workforce training to create, store, track, deliver and report educational resources, trainings and developmental programs. Work with MFR Senior Managers to implement cross-departmental training programs.
    • Develop and communicate employee growth and professional development initiatives.
    • Work with Senior Managers to develop an internal knowledge database to share information about staff skills and certifications.
    • Promote MFR employee participation in conferences and educational opportunities; contributing to professional publications, professional organizations; maintaining personal networks; and maintaining minimum continuing education requirements for certifications.
    • Develop and promote internal communication with all MFR employees in all locations through newsletters, Virtual Team Meetings, etc. to share news, celebrate successes, communicate company wide information, etc.
    • Perform other duties as assigned

Client Service:

    • On an as-needed basis, on MFR client engagements, act as a partner/SME with assigned customers to understand desired project objectives using HR insights to provide solutions and recommendations.

At MFR we offer two types of internships:

    • The Undergraduate Associate Consultant Internship (UACI) program (full time summer and part-time school year) for college/university students
    • The Graduate Student Consultant program for graduate school students (full and part time)

Both positions provide students with a structured introduction to MFR’s analytical tools and applications. There is a strong mentoring and professional development component as well as ongoing coaching by colleagues and MFR team members.

The students chosen as an Undergraduate Associate Consultant Intern (UACI) are typically students between their third and fourth year of college/university. They have strong academic backgrounds, analytical skills, highly motivated level, and outstanding interpersonal skills and are considering a career in management consulting. We accept all majors in our Internship program. You will work as a member of project teams in roles that vary by the team’s and projects objective. UACI’s are typically responsible for data gathering and analysis, interviewing the client’s customers, competitors, and suppliers, writing reports and presenting the findings to team members.

The Graduate Student Consultant (GSC) is a graduate student between their first and second year of business school. You’ll perform a full range of functions-field interviews, data analysis, solution brainstorming, presentation crafting and delivery-on case assignments that range from business unit strategy to marketing, and IT. You will work directly with the MFR teams and clients to solve business problems and create make a lasting impact.

The consulting work requires strong problem solving and customer, competitor, market and channel analytical skills. This includes strong project management and relationship building skills and the ability to interact effectively with our clients is critical.

Primary responsibilities include:

    • Analyzing, designing and implementing business process improvement strategies for our clients and developing an array of solutions to improve business performance, which may include process redesign, the introduction or enhancement of information technology, and developing process manuals or training materials.
    • Assisting in the research, writing, and editing of reports and other materials.
    • Management Consultant Internship
    • Helping with obtaining background information for projects through research, focus groups and interviews.
    • Interns may also work as part of the MFR in-house consulting team to analyze and advise MFR on market positioning and on increasing our competitiveness in the Philadelphia / National/ Global market.

Qualifications:

    • Student must be pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
    • 0 to 2 years of work experience. Minimum of one year of courses involving the principles of Marketing, Business Management, Communications.
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Must demonstrate the ability to grasp new concepts quickly, a willingness to learn.
    • Must have a moderate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to handle pressure without letting it detract from the quality of your work.
    • Attention to detail, customer-service driven, and creativity are a must as well as the ability to work in a team.
    • Information technology project experience including requirements gathering, business analysis, quality assurance, and workflow tools and practices are not necessary but helpful.
