Job Description:

MFR Consultants provides administrative support services to the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The primary mission of the USDOT FMCSA is to reduce fatalities, crashes and injuries involving large tracks and buses in the United States. FMCSA is headquartered in Washington, DC. The agency employs more than 1,000 individuals, and operates in all U.S. States, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.  We are looking to hire a General Clerk for a short term engagement (6-8 weeks) starting June 2016.

 

The General Clerk shall perform the following tasks:

  • Verify that all documentation is stored correctly in the Electronic Documentation Management System (EDMS), and other systems as required.
  • Remove and properly dispose of paper files that exceed the retention period per FMCSA policy.
  • Scan documents into the EDMS, and other systems as required.
  • Distribute incoming mail/FAX/UPS and process outgoing mail/UPS using a postage meter or the UPS website.
  • Track shipping activity on the office’s UPS account and the postal meter.
  • Perform basic data entry to track incoming documents.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls
  • Use MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) to prepare documents.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements: Sophomore – Senior in college with background in Business Administration or equivalent education/experience; Ability to work well within a team and work independently, good problem solving and communication skills, experience with utilizing office equipment and filing systems, good proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Suite of products.

An innovative firm in the information technology space, MFR operates in 12 states throughout the US. This position will be responsible for handling human resource activities at the corporate office as well as on behalf of our clients at remote sites.

Responsible for providing administrative support in connection with MFR’s recruitment and retention of talent, the position includes, but will not be limited to, the following duties:

  • Assisting with the recruitment and selection process, to include posting employment advertisements; assisting with recruitment interview process, coordinate interviews of all prospective candidates to the MFR team; conducting criminal background checks, employment verifications and references on applicants
  • Assisting with on-boarding new employees including handling all paperwork, creating new hire files, data entry of employee information into HRIS database, and conducting orientation for new employees
  • Maintaining employee files in compliance with applicable legal and contractual requirements;

Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

Location: Philadelphia, PA (possible travel/relocation to unanticipated locations throughout the US)

Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement, maintain and enhance test plans, test scripts and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned systems;
  • Develop software quality test plans and test cases (including UAT, Regression testing, Functional testing);
  • Test software applications using such technologies as QTP, Fiddler, Test Manager and Quality Center;
  • Provide back-up testing with Oracle/SQL;

Senior Systems/Business Analyst

Senior Systems/Business Analyst

At MFR, the Senior Systems/Business Analyst works closely with our technical staff, application development team and testing team to ensure that the client’s business requirements are understood. They may also participate and/or lead project teams in integration and user acceptance testing to ensure that the agreed upon solution matches the client’s business requirements.

The Senior Systems/Business Analyst sits within our Project Management Office, supporting Front Office projects, driving business initiatives on behalf of business users and working with Technology groups to deliver successful outcomes.

This position will engage in the following duties:

  • Plan, perform business & systems analysis, process design, test, and implement system changes.
  • Perform current state analysis, define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, test, train, and define support procedures and implantation
  • Create High Level Design documents & Requirement Traceability Matrices
  • Create detailed system design requirements, including Feature Documentation, Database Models, User Interface and Screen Designs, Use Case Scenarios, and Workflow Diagram.
  • Develop & execute system test plans and test cases
  • Perform gap analyses of existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Perform defect resolution & tracking using Quality Center, develop UAT test scripts, provide user support, create and run SQL queries with Oracle 10g & TOAD, create Sate Diagrams and Use case diagrams using Microsoft Visio, perform automated testing using QTP, and support applications based on JAVA, Oracle 10g, and Cold Fusion
  • Create user manuals and user guides

 

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 4 years of experience in the job offered or related technical/analytical role. Additional requirements include:

  • 3 years of experience in planning, analysis, design, testing & implementation of system changes;
  • Proficient in Java, .Net, PHP, and Cold Fusion programming technologies;
  • Strong skills in Quality Center, QTP, Test Director, and Load Runner testing tools;
  • Experience in executing SQL queries using TOAD for Oracle 10g; and
  • Experience can be concurrent.

Management Consultant Internship

MFR Consultants internships provide you with the opportunity to experience and actively participate in the real world of consulting.

At MFR we offer two types of internships:

The Undergraduate Associate Consultant Internship (UACI) program (full time summer and part-time school year) for college/university students

The Graduate Student Consultant program for graduate school students (full and part time)

Both positions provide the student with a structured introduction to MFR’s analytical tools and applications. There is a strong mentoring and professional development component as well as ongoing coaching by colleagues and MFR team members.

The student chosen for our firms Undergraduate Associate Consultant Intern (UACI) are typically students between their third and fourth year of college/university.  They have strong academic backgrounds, analytical skills, highly motivated level, and outstanding interpersonal skills and are considering a career in management consulting.  We accept all majors in our Internship program.  You will be staffed on actual cases beginning in the first of the Internship. You will work as members of project teams in roles that vary by the team’s and projects objective.  UACI’s are typically responsible for data gathering and analysis, interviewing the client’s customers, competitors, and suppliers, writing reports and presenting the findings to team members.

The Graduate Student Consultant (GSC) is a graduate student between their first and second year of business school. The position simulates the experience of an MFR Consultant.  You’ll perform a full range of functions-field interviews, data analysis, solution brainstorming, presentation crafting and delivery-on case assignments that range from business unit strategy to marketing, and IT.  You will work directly with the MFR teams and clients to solve business problems and create change.

As an Intern with our firm, you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that will involve:

-Growth Strategies:  market opportunity analysis, new market entry strategies, M&A evaluation, business case development, competitive analysis.

-Strategic Alignment:  customer segmentation, go-to-market strategies (e.g., pricing strategies, channel alignment), post-merger integration, organizational alignment.

The consulting work requires strong problem solving and customer, competitor, market and channel analytical skills.  This includes strong project management and relationship building skills and the ability to interact effectively with our clients is critical.

Primary responsibilities include:

-Analyzing, designing and implementing business process improvement strategies for our clients and developing an array of solutions to improve business performance issues.

-Assisting in the research, development and implementation of strategic marketing concepts for our clients.

-Assisting in the research, writing, and editing of reports and other materials.

-Helping with obtaining background information for projects through research, focus groups and interviews. Also defining user requirements

-Student will also work as part of the MFR in-house consulting team to analyze and advise MFR on market positioning and on increasing our competitiveness in the Philadelphia / Northeast Corridor market.

 

Qualifications:

-Student must be pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

-0 to 2 years of work experience. Minimum of one year of courses involving the principles of Marketing, Business Management, Communications.

-Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

-Must demonstrate the ability to grasp new concepts quickly, a willingness to learn.

-Must have a moderate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

-Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to handle pressure without letting it detract from the quality of your work.

  • Monitor and track database and I/O activity for business programs, on Infomatica, Documentum and ETL applications;

HR Manager

HR Manager

The Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function. Plan, direct, and coordinate the human resource management activities of the organization to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, employee relations, policies and procedures, benefits, work/life, HR sponsored programs and regulatory compliance. Provide direct support to senior leadership to foster a risk-free organization and strategically maximize business unit’s efficiency and productivity measures. The HR Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

 

Responsibilities include: schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; routinely gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of types of job-related equipment. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is moderate.
